Thanks everyone for taking the time to answer all the questions. They were really so fun to read! It made me even more excited and brought back some great memories. We really have done some wonderful things together and each new year is the best year at Cannon Beach
When was the first time you went to Cannon Beach with the family?
M-2006
S-Was it 1988 I think you all said. I was about 5 and I don't remember it, but it was a start of a great tradition.
Why do you look forward to Cannon Beach every year?
M-I love being far away and disconnected from everything so I know that I couldn't really get much done if I tried so I don't feel bad not trying. This makes it sooooo relaxing, and I love hanging out with everybody for the week.
S-I love seeing the ocean and breathing the fresh air I miss it all year. But mostly I love being with everyone and no one has to worry about any commitments or work. It's really where we build memories and lasting friendships.
What is your favorite Cannon Beach memory?
M-I can't really pick just one so I'm going to go with the culmination of all the sunsets that we have watched together. It's great sitting together on the beach surrounded by so much beauty.
S-It's impossible to say my favorite so I'll try to say a couple really good ones that come to mind. First of all last year when I mentioned that I was "late" and Jada bought me a pregnancy test, and it was positive! What a cool place to find out I was pregnant and with all my favorite people. The other is 2 years ago when we were all sitting on our sand hill watching the sunset together. It was so magical. Everyone was happy and enjoying being together and watching connor run up the hill and roll down over and over again.
What is your funniest memory at Cannon Beach?
M-I'm not going into detail, but it has something to do with Pat going a while without slipping on the ice.
S-I am just sitting here laughing thinking about all the funny memories. But a few good ones that come to mind are we the boys ate so many jelly belly they throw up, when they thought they saw Robin Williams on the beach and went to ask him the time, and I remember when we were in the A-frame house and I slept on the floor in between John and Joe and they would talk to each other in their sleep every night.
Which house that we stayed in was your favorite?
M- Thayer House
S-I have the most memories in the thayer house and the Breland home. They were the most like home because we stayed in them many times in a row.
What is your favorite game we play?
M-A toss up between Boggle, Racko, and Scatagories (if Nate is playing)
S-I love pit, and scatagories the best
What is your favorite outside and inside activity we do?
M-Outside-surfing Inside-games
S- Outside-walks, & sandcastles Inside-playing games & talking, and I love going shopping with the girls
What is your favorite food we eat?
M- I'm not sure. I eat so much that it all just kind of melds into one delicious week.
S-I love spaghetti night!
What is your favorite store in town?
M-The art galleries and the ice cream store
S-I love that clothing store that we got our shirts from last year and where my sisters got me that cute jacket.
What one thing do you just have to do this year?
M-Get there!!!
S-I need to see all my family and take lots of long walks
What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
M-It's a tie between mint chip and the chocolate one with the brownies in it.
S-I love the cookie dough, but I am always willing to try new flavors
Which do you like better the sunrises or sunsets?
